A Brave Police Officer Risked His Life In The Face Of Flames To Rescue A Chained Dog From A Fire
A police officer’s role is typically stated as “to serve and protect,” and a Mexican officer recently exemplified those responsibilities by putting an animal’s safety ahead of his own.
Mexico’s Federal Police released dramatic video earlier this month of an officer rescuing a fenced-in dog from a roaring fire.
The officer can be seen in the video coaxing the clearly terrified dog before taking her up and pulling her to safety.
“When doing our job, we face various challenges,” the Federal Police posted on Facebook, “always with the goal of protecting life.”
Authorities provided no other information on the rescue, although the agency’s fondness for dogs is evident on social media.
The Federal Police, which is tasked with combating Mexico’s drug cartels, makes considerable use of detection dogs such as Simón, a golden retriever who was recently featured on the agency’s Twitter account.
